A hugely complex project with a landlocked site prone to flooding, the brief demanded a conversion of Jersey’s oldest listed pub, a new build restaurant, gastro lounge and kitchen and the conversion of a 1930s residence into a contemporary guest house. Much of the work involved careful retention and reconstruction of listed features, some of which only revealed themselves throughout the strip out phase. New elements introduced were carefully detailed to ensure authenticity to the various spaces within. A significant achievement was ensuring that all spaces and their connections offered full operational functionality and seamless flow. This project was inherited when the original interior designer relocated overseas prior to any work commencing on site. The design required analysis and development, both in terms of compliance, and to suit differing site conditions and budgets.
